Common names:

Magnolia, Magnolia officinalis, Hou Po, Indian Bark, Japanese whitebark magnolia, Magnolia Bark,  Red Bay.

Traditional uses of Magnolia:

Magnolia bark is used in neuroborreliosis (paralysis, paresis, depression, anxiety, severe stress, neurosis, memory problems) and joint borreliosis (joint degeneration, joint pain). It inhibits proinflammatory interleukins, which contribute to inflammation of the osteoarticular system and the nervous system. It also has strong antidepressant and anxiolytic properties.

Contraindications:

The bark of magnolia should not be used by pregnant women and during breastfeeding. Magnolia can slow blood clotting and cause bleeding during and after surgery. It is recommended to stop using the plant at least 2 weeks before the planned surgery.
