EGCG

EGCG is the most active catechin found in green tea, conditioning its pro-health properties. This compound is an extremely powerful antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals and protecting against the development of cancer. EGCG has stronger antioxidant properties than vitamins C and E.

EGCG also has neuroprotective effects. It has a significant impact on the body’s immunity as it greatly increases the number of the so-called regulatory T cells (Treg) – cells belonging to the immune system, mainly responsible for inhibiting the immune response, also autoimmune.

EGCG also supports metabolism, being an element of atherosclerosis prevention. In addition, EGCG lowers blood pressure and thus reduces the risk of stroke or cardiovascular episodes. EGCG also helps reduce glucose levels.
